about

I pretty well made this record by accident. At the time most of this music was written I was heavily focused on other projects playing guitar, and I had a couple of these sessions on the go for when I needed to take a break from that other stuff. Over time, the best ones came to fruition and I sorta gradually realised that there was enough material with enough common ground available to put a record together.

Maybe because of this, I feel like the atmosphere isn't as coherent here as on my other material, but i'm really fond of these songs and I think in a way they're reflective of a lot of the key elements of the sound i've been trying to foster over the course of doing this.

'Mono Hustle' was originally commissioned for a promo video for the excellent Melbournian street artist Heesco, who I worked with a couple of times during the period these songs were made. I felt like it felt at home. 'Attenuate' is also probably the longest i've had a song in progress, I started it while I was working on 'Murmurations' and it was the last song I finished for this release.

Thanks for listening.

Tom.
